FAQ's

About Heron’s Loft®

Q: What is Heron’s Loft®?
A:
Heron’s Loft® is a luxury, nature-inspired clothing and accessories brand offering bold, art-driven designs. We collaborate with artists to create patterns inspired by plants, birds, and other natural elements, and we design pieces that work for workouts, everyday wear, and luxury bags.

Q: Where are you based?
A:
Heron’s Loft® was founded by brothers Kevin and David Harper and is based in California, USA.

Q: Who actually makes the products?
A:
All products are made to order by our manufacturing partner in London, UK. They print, cut, and sew the garments and accessories in-house using modern digital printing and traditional cut-and-sew techniques. Each piece is handmade after a customer places an order—there’s no mass production or pre-printed stock.

Q: What kinds of products do you offer?
A: Heron’s Loft® offers:

  • Women’s: sports bras, tops, hoodies, sweaters, jackets, leggings, shorts, skirts, joggers, pants, and swimwear.
  • Men’s: shirts, tanks, hoodies, jackets, joggers, track pants, swim shorts and trunks.
  • Accessories & gear: hats, bags, backpacks, duffels, wallets, phone holders, drinkware, journals, and more.

We also organize designs into collections (Jungle Flower, Topo Turtles, White Crane, Tropical Macaw, Bee Garden, Pineapple Paradise, Camo Leaves, Midnight Monstera).

Production & Order Processing

Q: Are your products made to order?
A:
Yes. Every item is made especially for the customer only after the order is placed. This print-on-demand approach helps reduce overproduction and waste.

Q: How long does it take to receive my order?
A:
Your products are handmade to order in London and then shipped to you in the U.S.

  • Our manufacturing partner (Contrado Imaging Ltd) typically produces most items within 1–2 working days, and they state that about 95% of products ship within 48 hours.
  • Most orders are made and delivered within roughly 3–5 days (production + shipping), though actual times can vary by product, destination, and shipping option.

Heron’s Loft® shows up-to-date delivery estimates for your specific order at checkout, so those are the timelines customers should rely on.

Q: Can I change or cancel my order after I place it?
A:
Because each item is custom-made and production often starts quickly, changes or cancellations are usually not possible once production begins. If you need a change, email support@heronsloft.com as soon as possible with your order number, and our team will check whether the order has already entered production.

Q: Will my order ship together or in multiple packages?
A:
Most orders are produced and shipped from the same facility, so your items usually arrive together. However, if you order products that require different production processes or timelines, your order may be split into more than one parcel. This is determined by the manufacturer’s workflow and will not change your shipping cost for standard delivery.

Shipping

Q: Where do you ship?
A:
Heron’s Loft® currently ships to addresses within the United States only.

Q: How much does shipping cost?
A:
We currently offer:

  • Free standard shipping
  • Shipping to United States only
  • No shipping to PO Boxes
  • Up-to-date shipping times at checkout

Any paid or express options (if available for certain items) and final costs are displayed at checkout before you complete your order.

Q: Do you ship to PO Boxes?
A:
No. At this time, shipping to a PO BOX is not available.

Q: How will my order be shipped, and is it tracked?
A: All Heron’s Loft® orders are handmade in London and shipped using tracked delivery services through major carriers (such as FedEx or comparable couriers). Once your order has shipped and your tracking number becomes available, you will receive a separate tracking confirmation email so you can follow your package every step of the way.

Most orders are produced and shipped quickly, but delivery times may vary during severe weather conditions, peak holiday seasons, or carrier-related delays. Your tracking link will always provide the most current delivery updates once it has been issued.

Q: Do you offer international shipping?
A:
At this time, Heron’s Loft® currently ships to U.S. addresses only, as stated on our product pages.

Q: Will I pay customs duties or import taxes?
A:
No customs duties are expected for customers in the United States because all orders are shipped to U.S. addresses only. When we expand to international shipping in the future, customers in other countries may be subject to local customs or import fees, but that is not applicable under our current U.S-only shipping policy.

Sizing & Fit

Q: What sizes do you offer?
A:
Many Heron’s Loft® garments are available in a wide size range, often from 2XS up to 7XL, depending on the product type. Each product page shows the specific size range available for that item.

Q: How do I find my correct size?
A:
Every apparel product includes a Size Guide image or link with body or garment measurements in inches. The best approach is:

  1. Measure yourself (chest, waist, hips, etc.) using a soft tape measure. We recommend measuring:

    • Waist at the narrowest point
    • Hips over the fullest part of the buttocks
    • Chest/bust around the fullest part at underarm level.

  2. Compare your measurements to the Size Guide on the product page.

  3. If you’re between sizes or prefer a looser, more relaxed fit, it is generally safer to choose the larger size, while a closer fit means selecting the size that matches your measurements most closely.

Q: Do your items run true to size?
A:
Because everything is custom-made using detailed size charts from our production partner, most customers will get the best fit by matching their body measurements to the size chart, rather than relying on standard “S/M/L” expectations. If you are near the upper boundary of a size or prefer extra ease, we often recommend going up one size for a more relaxed fit; otherwise, stick to the size that aligns most closely with your measurements.

Q: Do you offer plus sizes?
A:
Yes. Many garments—such as leggings, joggers, shirts, and dresses—are available up to 4XL or 7XL, depending on the specific style. Check the Size Guide and size options on each product page for the exact range.

Materials, Quality & Sustainability

Q: What materials do we use?
A:
Materials vary by product, but examples include:

  • Performance jerseys & sports fabrics: Rox Sports Jersey (96% polyester, 4% spandex) for athletic shorts, with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified fabric and inks.
  • Outerwear fabrics: Loopback Jersey and Polar Fleece hoodies (100% polyester) using Oeko-Tex Standard 100 fabrics and inks.
  • Silk & silk-alternative fabrics:
    • Silk Sensation (100% polyester) with UV protection and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 inks.
    • 100% Pure Silk Satin printed with Oeko-Tex Standard 100, GOTS ECOCERT-certified inks.
  • Canvas & cotton: Cotton Panama canvas for tote bags and cotton canvas constructions.
  • Nappa leather: Full-grain Nappa leather used on certain bags and wallets.

Each product page lists the exact materials used for that item.

Q: What is Nappa leather, and how is it used in your products?
A:
Our Nappa leather products (such as certain backpacks, handbags, and wallets) are made from 100% real Nappa leather, a full-grain, high-quality leather known for its softness and durability. The leather sections (for example, the grab handle, lower sides, and bottom panels of some backpacks) are cut and stitched by artisan leatherworkers in Europe.

Q: Are your products sustainably made?
A:
Yes—sustainability is built into both the print-on-demand model and the manufacturing process:

  • Heron’s Loft® makes products only after an order is placed, reducing overproduction and excess inventory.
  • Our manufacturing partner in London emphasizes eco-friendly production, using modern digital printing that uses relatively little water and manages ink waste in cooperation with local water authorities.
  • Many fabrics and inks are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, and some inks (e.g., those used on your silk satin) are GOTS ECOCERT certified.

Q: Are colors and patterns exactly like the photos?
A:
Colors are printed using professional digital printing for crisp, vibrant results, but:

  • Colors can appear slightly different in person due to monitor settings and lighting.
  • Pattern placement may vary slightly from piece to piece because each item is individually cut and sewn; many of our product pages explicitly note that “colors and pattern placement may vary.”

Care Instructions

Q: How should I care for my clothing?
A:
Care instructions are shown on each product page under the Care Guide section. Examples:

  • Many performance and hoodie fabrics: wash at 86°F (30°C), use low tumble dry heat, do not wring, and iron on low heat on the reverse side if needed.
  • Silk Sensation: wash at 86°F, low tumble dry, hang to dry, do not wring, low heat iron.
  • 100% Pure Silk Satin: dry clean only is recommended, or hand-wash in cold water with silk detergent.

Always follow the specific Care Guide shown for the product you purchase.

Q: How do I care for Nappa leather bags and wallets?
A:
Nappa leather items should generally be:

  • Surface wiped only—clean gently by hand with a mild, soapy damp cloth.
  • Kept away from prolonged moisture, direct heat, or harsh cleaners.

This helps maintain the leather’s softness and the vibrancy of the printed design.

Q: Will the prints fade or crack?
A:
Your manufacturer uses advanced digital printing methods designed to bond ink deeply into the fabric rather than sitting on top like some traditional prints. When customers follow the Care Guide (i.e. cool wash, gentle cycle, no harsh detergents, and low heat), the prints are made to remain bright and durable over time.

Returns & Exchanges

Q: Do you accept returns or exchanges?
A:
Because all Heron’s Loft® products are custom-made to order, they are not resalable. For that reason, non-faulty products (for example, change-of-mind or ordering the wrong size) cannot be returned or exchanged.

However, if there is a manufacturing fault, you can request a repair or replacement at no charge (see below).

Q: My item is faulty. What should I do?
A:
If you receive a faulty product, please email support@heronsloft.com within 10 days of receiving your order. Include:

  1. Your name
  2. Your order number
  3. A short description of the problem
  4. Clear photos showing the issue

Heron’s Loft® will contact the manufacturer on your behalf. If the issue is confirmed as a manufacturing fault, your item will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

Q: What counts as a “faulty” product?
A:
Manufacturer faults typically include issues such as:

  • Scratches or damage introduced during production
  • Stitching or hemming problems
  • Major printing flaws that are clearly due to production, not wear or improper care.

Our manufacturing partner makes the final determination on what qualifies as a manufacturing fault.

Q: Can I return an item because I ordered the wrong size or changed my mind?

A: No. Since each product is custom-made specifically for you after your order is placed, non-faulty items cannot be returned or exchanged for size, preference, or change-of-mind reasons. To avoid any sizing issues, we strongly recommend measuring yourself before ordering. Here’s the best way to find your perfect fit:

For the most accurate fit, always select your size based on your actual body measurements, not traditional U.S. sizing.

Using a soft measuring tape:

  • Bust/Chest: Measure around the fullest part, keeping the tape level and snug—not tight.
  • Waist: Measure your natural waistline, which is the narrowest part of your torso.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks.

Once you have your measurements, compare them directly to the Size Guide shown on each product page. If you prefer a looser, more relaxed fit, choose one size up from your exact measurement match. If you prefer a tailored, fitted, or streamlined look, choose the size that matches your measurements exactly.

This method ensures your item is made to fit your body comfortably and confidently—just the way you like it.

Payments, Pricing & Security

  • Mastercard
  • PayPal
  • Shop Pay
  • Visa

All payments are processed securely through Shopify’s checkout system.

Q: What currency are your prices shown in?
A:
Prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD).

Q: Is my payment information secure?
A:
Yes. Heron’s Loft® uses Shopify’s secure ecommerce platform, which handles payment processing using industry-standard encryption. Our store’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (linked in the site footer) explain how customer data is handled.

Design Availability & Promotions

Q: Will a design I like be restocked if it disappears?
A:
Because products are printed on demand and not pre-stocked, you can usually order a design as long as it is visible on the website. If a design or colorway is removed from the site, it typically means it has been retired or is no longer offered. Limited-edition colorways and special releases may also be time-limited.

Q: Do you offer discounts or special promotions?
A:
Yes. Heron’s Loft® occasionally shares coupon codes and special offers, especially with email subscribers. Customers can join the mailing list via the email sign-up on the site to receive updates about new designs and exclusive discounts.
